I really wanted to like this box. I really did. I think I was all hyped up from reading other people’s comments on the Cravebox Facebook page about how everyone loved it. I am not a regular subscriber of Cravebox since all their spots are all filled up. On a whim, I decided to enter the drawing for the 1000 available Summer BBQ limited edition boxes and was delighted I was getting one!
[For those who do not know what Cravebox is – Cravebox is a subscription box where you pay $10 for a box of goodies of their picking. It’s very much like a grab bag. I am not a subscriber of Cravebox as all of the spots are all sold out. They have limited edition boxes available where you don’t need to be a subscriber to get one. If you sign up for their mailing list, you can get on the mailing lists of specific boxes and they will notify you if there is one available for a drawing. You’re not guaranteed for a box but you can enter your name for one, if you’re interested.]
I did an online search on Cravebox reviews before I actually received mine and am well aware of people either liking or hating their boxes. We love to BBQ in the summer. My husband loves to grill and we have a BBQ almost every weekend in the summer and we have guests over often.
The Cravebox was very nicely packaged. Here’s what I found when I opened the box:
It had really festive red, white and blue confetti like paper and a larger-than-postcard on top telling me what was in the box.
Here’s a a closer look:
Here are the contents of the box, sans confetti:
This box looks fully packed right? It was, kinda…and did I say I really wanted to like this box?
This seemed to be the “main ingredient” of the box. It seems very cool, no? I would be ecstatic about this if we grilled with charcoal or go camping or something. But we don’t. Honestly, I doubt I have any use for this. This FlameDisk allows you to grill, without charcoal, for about 45 minutes or so. It’s easy to start it and it’s easy cleaning up. This would be perfect for a tailgating party but alas, I do not tailgate. I know, I lead a boring life.
These are the beverage items of the box. The Mighty Leaf iced tea smells really yummy and I’m looking forward to making a pitcher of it. But again, not enthralled. The True Lemon is basically some portable powder mixes to put into water bottles. I mean, it looks yummy and again, I look forward to using it, but not overly thrilled by this either.
I’ve heard a lot about Mozaik. I know BzzAgent had a Mozaik campaign but I was not invited to it. I’ve also noticed Costco sells some Mozaik items but this is the first time I’ve seen this. It’s looks very cute and I could probably use these. But they’re so cute I’d want to keep them! Not throw them out!
I apologize for the crappy picture. This is a coupon for a free Bic multi-purpose lighter to go with the Bic FlameDisk. Sadly, this is probably the most useful item for me in this box.
I really really wanted to like this box. I know I really killed it with my high expectations and reading everyone else’s high praise for this BBQ box. I’d definitely would like to try another box to see if I will like it or not but I’m sad to say that I’m not impressed. 😦
