Citrus Lane – January 2013

Weird.  I thought I cancelled this subscription?  I checked my credit card to see if I was charged but nope, I wasn’t.  Did someone send me this as a gift?  It doesn’t say anywhere on my account at Citrus Lane.  I also never received the blue brag book that was supposed to be sent to me. I had received a pink one instead.  Is this to make up for it?  Whatever, I am happy and really surprised to see this arrive at my door a couple weeks ago!  I was mighty unhappy with the December 2012 box but the January box totally made up for my disappointment.  I love love this box!

They changed some things about the box.  Here we go!

Yay, nice to see you again, Citrus Lane!

When I first opened the box.  The packing list is on a folded sheet of paper now, not cardboard-type paper anymore.

Packing list!

25% off coupon at Skip Hop with a $30 purchase.
Have I told you how much I love Skip Hop?
Love love love!

Underneath all that yellow tissue paper.
Skip Hop!  *swoons*!  Just that alone has made up the unhappiness from the December box.

Another book – Bear About Town. ($6.99)
Both of my kids would love this book!

Episencial.  I love these products.  This came with a full sized tube of Soothing Cream and a sample of the Playful Wash.
I received a full size of Soothing Cream from Bluum last year and I still have it. It lasts for a long time and it really does soothe on itchy patches.
I’ve used it for myself, too!  A full sized tube of Soothing Cream is about $11.00.

A Skip Hop Elephant Insulated Lunch Bag! Yay! ($14.00)
CB received a Giraffe one over Xmas and I can give this one to BB when he goes off to school one day.

Ella’s Milk & Vanilla baby cookies.($4.21)

This is great! I’ve been wanting to give BB some cookies.
I got him some Mum-mums from Amazon and he loves them but the only downside is that it’s made in China!!
The Hot Kid website says that it tests all the Mum mums products so it’s all safe to give to your kids but I can’t help but feel suspicious about that.
Of course they’ll say that – but how much of it is true?

This is a great alternative to the Mum mums.
I’ve tried giving BB this but he doesn’t like the texture so much and it kinda dribbles out of his mouth on the side.
It’s a bit messy and it doesn’t have the certain crunch rice crackers have – which he loves so much.  Gah.

Clean Well Disinfectant Spray – I had gotten this from a prior Citrus Lane box.
I haven’t tried it yet though.  Have to soon! ($3.99)

Here’s the whole box! If you add all the prices that I’ve found, it comes out to about $40 for the whole box.

Not too shabby!

Love it! I hope I get another one mysteriously.  🙂

If you’re interested in joining Citrus Lane, please use my invitation code HERE.  I love Citrus Lane. I think it’s the best subscription box out there for kids!  If you click on that link and create your own subscription, you will receive $10 off their order and I’ll get a $10 credit!  So it’s a win win situation. 🙂

Influenster – Holiday Voxbox

Woohoo, my very first Voxbox since I joined Influenster this past summer.  I had received the Palmolive box but it wasn’t an official VoxBox so I’m counting the Holiday VoxBox as my very first one!  I filled out a survey one day and then they said I was getting a Holiday VoxBox!  This is good because it makes me try out all the stuff as early as possible.  I don’t know if you have noticed but it takes me a while to finally try something.  I like to take my time, which could be a bad thing.  I’m a big time procrastinator.   Here it is:

I’m comparing the size of the boxes. The Loot Crate is on the left and the Voxbox is on the right side.

Oh wow, I didn’t know they were based in NYC!
No wonder the box came really soon. It actually arrived on Saturday, the day I left for Montreal.
I had it shipped to my parents’ house.

Packing list with descriptions and price

1.  Quaker – Real Medleys Summer Berry Oatmeal – I used to hate oatmeal but now I love it. I think I used to hate it because my parents would make it for me when I was young but I wouldn’t eat it right away. By the time I’ve gotten the bravery to try this bland mess, it was congealed, cold and tasteless.  I love McDonald’s Fruit and Maple Oatmeal but I know it has to have a bunch of bad crap in it in order for it to taste good.  I also love the Quaker instant oatmeal packets, too.  I was very eager to try this.  I brought it for breakfast to work yesterday.  The instructions are very easy.  You can either add boiling water in it and let it sit a minute, a lot like instant noodles.  Or you can put cold water in it and then nuke it for like 45 seconds.  I took the first method and this is what it looked like:

It looks a little too liquidy there so I let it sit a bit more till it got really thick.  I think I would have liked the other varieties better.  I usually love berries but these were berries were really sour.  I noticed on the bottom, it was a little sweeter so maybe I just hadn’t stirred well enough.  The other varieties are:  Apple Walnut Oatmeal, Cherry Pistachio Oatmeal and Peach and Almond Oatmeal. Those sound fantastic!  Wasn’t too fond of the Summer Berry one but I will gladly try the other flavors.  This costs about $1.79 per cup.  I was also really full, too, and I couldn’t finish the whole cup!

2.  This is like the 3rd or 4th packet of EBoost I’ve received so far from other subscription boxes, like Conscious Box or Cravebox.  I figured it was similar to Emergen-C or something like that.  GlitteredScrubs had told me this tasted disgusting so I was even more scared to try it but I’m trying  😦  I think Emergen-C tastes awesome compared to this vile crap.  Ugh!  I’m not even sure if it’s boosting my mood, focus and immunity, since I’m already sick.  The most vile thing I have ever tasted was Buckley’s cough syrup even though it worked.  I think Eboost is up there too.  Ugh! And look!  This is what happens when you mix it with water!

I know it’s pink lemonade flavor but this is a little disturbing. LOL
This goes for $28 for a box of 20 packets; $39 for a box of 30…*shudder*
I think my stomach is protesting against this. I can’t force myself to drink this anymore…bleghhh

3.  Goody Quikstyle brushes.  This is a paddle brush with these absorbent microfiber bristles in between that are supposed to help dry your hair quicker.  They say it’s like a towel and brush in one.  This is kinda cool.  I’ve been using this since the beginning of the week.  It actually does seem to dry my hair a bit.  Some days I go without blow drying my hair because my hair seems to have dried a little bit more quickly than usual.  Although these days I’ve been blow drying because I have a cold…but I really do think this works!

quikstyle_howto (1)

This brush is $11.99.  I’m really loving this!

4.  Kiss Nail Dress.  This is so cute!!  I don’t really go for manicures since I am the ultimate klutz and tend to chip the polish off immediately but I usually go and get pedicures when the weather is warmer.  Plus, I don’t think I can really pull off cheetah print nails. I could, maybe a decade ago, with my cheetah print leather clubbing pants but not now.  No way. LOL.  That Babydot has long since grown up.  I think I’ll try this on my toe nails one of these days.  Maybe this weekend.  I’ve never applied anything to my own nails since I’m cursed with shaky hands so I don’t know how well these will turn out.  If these turn out great, I will definitely use more of these.  This costs $6.99.

5.  NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine$2.49 – I’ve seen this brand before but I’ve never tried it.  I will, soon, though. I love lip gloss and lip balm.  They are my weakness.  I’m not a huge fan of this color though but they have a wide variety of colors available.

6.  Sole Society – $25 off your first purchase! – I’ve known about Sole Society for a while now but I’ve cancelled my membership.  Plus, all I wear these days are sneakers or fluffy imitation Uggs boots.  Heh.  Anyone interested in this?  Just email me or leave a comment and I’ll give it to you.  First come, first serve!

I did not get one of those face masks in my Voxbox but I think I got one in one of my other boxes.  Haven’t tried it surprise there.  =X

This was a great experience.  Much thanks to Influenster for giving me such a great opportunity to try out these new items.  I’m totally looking forward for more VoxBoxes if I’m lucky enough to qualify for more! 🙂

I have 2 more invites available to join Influenster. Anyone interested?  Just let me know!

Coach Factory – Updated

So I received a box yesterday and was excited to see it was from Coach!  I got my new replacement bag! Yay!  When I opened the box, I saw this:

What the hell?  This looks nothing like this!

Ok, ok, it is the SAME style/model number but the color??  It’s PINK!  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo!!!!!

I mean, it’s a very pretty pink color, a pale pink – but I AM SO NOT A PINK PERSON!!!!

Meanie saw my reaction while I was opening up my box.  I was like all YAY in the beginning and then absolute disappointment after I realized what color it was.  His reply?  “Wow, that color is SO you”  If you didn’t catch that, that was dripping with sarcasm.  They could have sent me any color – black, white, brown, purple (I was expecting purple!), blue (I would use it if it were blue!) but pink?   This totally came out of left field.  I so wasn’t expecting this.  I can’t carry a pink bag around!  Wahhhh!  It’s SO not me. 😦

I entertained the idea of calling Coach bag to get my old bag back – but what am I going to do with a damaged bag?  😦  The bag gave me a good run and I guess it’s time to change my bag.  I guess I’ll be selling this on eBay.  Unless there’s anyone out there who is interested in the bag?  I’ll sell it to you!  Here are more pictures of the bag:

Here are the details:

  • 24cm Signature Duffle bag
  • Style:  F15067
  • Color:  Silver/Pink
  • MSRP $328.00 + tax
  • New with tags
  • Convertible strap for double handle with 12″ drop or longer strap for shoulder or Crossbody wear
  • Signature fabric with leather trim
  • Inside zip, cell phone and multifunction pockets
  • Outside zip pocket
  • Zip-top closure, fabric lining
  • 13″ (L) x 11 1/2″ (H) x 4″ (W)

By the way, I searched all over the internet to see if there are other bags in this color but I wasn’t able to find any other ones.  I’m pretty sure this bag is authentic but the color for this style is rare.

Please email me if you’re interested –

Coach Factory

About a year to 2 years ago, I started getting emails from Coach Factory about these fabulous Coach sales.  I jumped on one of those sales, bought like 3-4 handbags and I thought I lucked out on awesome prices on these Coach bags.  And then I started getting plagued by emails every day about this sale and that and it just lost that special appeal it used to have.  It made me doubt if Coach Factory was the same thing as Coach or just a knockoff or something.  I definitely think Coach (like the one on Madison Avenue in Manhattan) is much more higher end and higher quality than Coach Factory (the Coach stores you find in shopping outlets, etc.) especially since my Coach Factory bag I bought last year was starting to fall apart – the zipper was coming loose from the fabric and the material on one side was all frayed and faded.

The Signature Duffle bag in Silver/Purple

I absolutely love purple. It’s been my favorite color ever since I was a wee child.  I went through all the teasing and everything but I still stuck by my favorite color (Eww, purple?  Gross!) and now it’s trendy!  Ha ha!  In yer faces, stupid little kids that made fun of me.  =P  Nyah! Ok, end immaturity. 🙂

This bag looks a lot bigger than it seems.  I can stuff my own stuff in there, an iPad and a bunch of baby stuff – burp cloths, juice boxes, wipes.  It’s not big enough to use as a diaper bag but it’s good enough to shove essential things you need in there (a diaper, wipes, etc) My friend had just recently commented that I must love this bag so much because I haven’t changed my bag yet – I used to do that every season.  I need change and variety.  I get sick of the same thing over and over again.  That pertains to clothes, handbags, jackets, food, everything, really.

But then it started to all fall apart from how much I used it.  Oh, woe is me!  Meanie had mentioned that Coach should be able to fix it, cuz after all, it’s Coach!  But then I had my doubts if my Coach was the same thing as real Coach.  LOL  So I went to the website and emailed them to see if they do do repairs.  I got a reply from customer service fairly quickly:

COACH Online Consumer Service

Awesome!  I chose to mail mine in so all I had to do was pay for my own shipping to Coach (about $20 via UPS) and I had to enclose another $20 for shipping and handling for them to send it back to me. So $40 total.  Everything can’t be free.  So I was expecting them to fix the zipper and maybe do something to make the frayed and faded part look a little better but I just got a letter from Coach Factory this week that said this:

Wow!! I certainly wasn’t expecting this at all! This is terrific! A totally new bag!  I love places with great customer service (Patagonia is another one).  So if you think about it, I paid about $40 a totally new Coach bag.

I’m sorry for doubting you, Coach Factory.  You are just as wonderful as your counterpart.
