Conscious Box – December 2012 Review

It’s been a while since I’ve posted. A little over a week.  For some reason, it feels like a really long time.  I know I’m behind on reviews and stuff.  I haven’t felt like posting after the latest tragedy.  My heart was and is full of so much sorrow over what happened.  I have to stop reading the news because there are times where I just feel like breaking out in tears over this sad time.  *sigh*

It’s a week till Christmas.  Where did all the time go?  Soon it will be 2013, if we survive the “apocalypse” on 12/21/12.  Hah, I just realized the date pattern.  12-21-12. Nifty!  I’m busy running around gathering last minute presents.  I thought I was done with everything but today I realized I forgot some people. Gahh!  We ordered 100 holiday cards this year and I think we used them all. That’s crazy.

I received my December Conscious Box about 2 weeks ago. What’s funny is that I had received an email from Conscious Box saying that the box was shipped.  I checked my email on my iPhone where 3 different email accounts are (which I kinda forgot about).  The email address I have for my PayPal account is totally different from my main account and I rarely check it.  So I received the email shipping confirmation on Sunday night on my iPhone and when I checked on Monday from my main account, it said my box was shipped!  So I got home, all eager to see my last Conscious Box only to realize that it hadn’t gotten delivered yet. So I was freaking out that someone else had gotten hold of my Conscious box and so I emailed Conscious Box that I had lost my box!  And then after everything was sent out, I realized that the shipment email was on my Hotmail email and that the tracking number I had sent to Conscious Box was from October, from an email sent to my Gmail account, when I bought the Mystery box.  I’m such an idiot.  I’m sure they’re cracking up over that. LOL  Conscious Box was very understanding and promptly emailed me back.  So sorry for my stupidity! 🙂

I was also waiting for the December Classic Packing List.

This is my last box of my subscription.  As much as I enjoyed Conscious Box, I regret this will be my last month.  It has certainly opened my eyes to new brands that are eco-friendly and good to the environment and the world.  The box is a wee bit expensive and I regret that I need to start saving money for 2013.  I had fun while it lasted, Conscious Box!

Here are my un-veiling pictures:

What was hiding underneath the tissue paper.
It’s a pretty heavy box this month!

Dec CB 8

1.  Beanfields – Bean & Rice Chips – Sea Salt & Pepper – 1.5 oz – Hmm…chips made out of beans?  I’m not an anti-bean person but I don’t love them, either. Sometimes I’ll eat them, sometimes I won’t. I know people who have bean phobias.  I tolerate beans.  I’ll try these but I don’t expect to be wowed.  They have good reviews so there’s a possibility I could get wowed.  A 1.5 oz bag goes for about:  $1.50 a bag according to Amazon

2.  18 Rabbits Granola – Pecan, Almond, Maple & Coconut Gracious Granola – 1.55 oz – The description off the website sounds super yummy:

The granola that started it all – Gracious Granola reminds Alison the most of what her mom made. A touch of butter and a hint of coconut add delectable warmth, with plenty of satisfying crunch from organic almonds and pecans. Try it atop tart, plain yogurt with a few strawberries for the perfect breakfast. Be Gracious to your body by treating it to a bowl of our original granola.

That sounds super yummy! I’m going to try it!  It’s available on Amazon for:  $2.08

Dec CB 9

3.  the GoodOnYa bar – Peanut Butter Chocolate – One of the additional items of this month’s box.  I actually received several of the “additional” items whereas I was supposed to receive only one of the list.  But I hadn’t received one of the products – Good Nature Tea – so I guess it’s a good trade off…?

Non GMO | No Soy | No Dairy | 54% Raw | 10g Bio-available Protein | Good Fiber | Grain Free & Gluten Free

This is a no-brainer, and it’s always been our #1 seller for obvious reasons. Who doesn’t love this classic combination? Only instead of junk it’s made real food and no fillers.  Our Organic Gluten Free peanut Butter Chocolate Bars are Loaded with protein and good fiber and the taste we all love. Raw, Organic Honey is our sweetener and there isn’t anything in here you couldn’t buy at the Co Op.

Yum, sounds good to me!

One bar costs approximately $2.50 from the website

4.  Truebar –  Fruit & Nut bar – $1.99 per bar – I had the opportunity to try the Cashew & Coconut Truebar via Swaggable.  Here’s the link for my post.  I totally snarfed down the Cashew & Coconut Truebar. I wished I had more. Funnily enough, Swaggable is also sending me the same Truebar as well as another one to try out but I haven’t received it yet.  I’m not a huge coconut fan but I loved that Cashew & Coconut Bar.  Truebar is a lot like the KIND bar but I think Truebar tastes better.

Dec Cb 10

5.  Bonus:  7th Heaven Naturals – Moroccan Clay Gentle Exfoliating Mask – I think I’ve seen these here and there at various drugstores but I have never tried one. This should be pretty interesting.  One packet costs about $2.99 according to the website.

6.  Lemi Shine – 2.5 oz –

Keeps dishes and glassware shining by removing hard water minerals in the main wash cycle of your dishwasher.

Lemi Shine Original Before and After
Dishwasher detergents are not formulated to remove hard water minerals during the main wash cycle. Lemi Shine® Original solves this problem. Combined with your auto dish detergent, Lemi Shine® Original removes tough hard water spots, stains, and film during the main wash cycle.

I do have a dishwasher but I rarely use it. I only use it when we have a lot of company.  Is that weird?  But this will be used when I have company in the near future.. 🙂

A 2.5 oz packet costs approximately around $1.64 (about $0.65 an ounce)

7.  Avalon Organics Soothing Vanilla & Rosemary lip balm.  – I love lip balm. I actually got this as a bonus in the last box and I love it! I’m so happy I have an extra one now. It moisturizes very well and the scent is amazing. Love, love, love!!  One costs about $2.49

8.  Eden Allure Argan Oil – Sample Size – To be honest, I have no idea what this is for but it’s gotten rave reviews everywhere.

I got this info from Amazon:

  • Rich in Vitamin F (omega 6), Vitamin E, Phenols, Triterpens, Squalene
  • Argan oil is a natural solution to defend against premature aging and UV exposure
  • Effective against aging and cell degeneration, as well as dryness, skin inflammation, acne and scars
  • Contains exceptionally high levels of fatty acids including linoleic acid (omega-6) which ensure skin’s repair and protective functions
  • Diminishes wrinkles and can even eliminate them completely

I guess it must work since everyone gave it awesome reviews!  I’m not sure how much this costs because it’s such a tiny bottle but on Amazon, 1 fl. oz costs about $18.99 Ow!

Dec CB 11

9.  Divine Chocolate (one of the additional items of box) – The name of the chocolate and the flavor of the chocolate has me convinced.  Milk Chocolate with Spiced cookies?  I haven’t ripped into this yet but I will, very very soon. And it’s fair trade! Yay!  This brand of chocolate has a variety of flavors that I would love to try.  Yum!  One bar costs about $1.99

10.  St. Claire’s OrganicsGinger Sweets Tin – costs about $2.99 – made out of organic molasses and ginger root, all organic.  Sounds good to me!

11.  EBOOSTNatural Orange – I’ve gotten several packets of this but I haven’t tried it out yet.  I think it’s a lot like Emergen-C except it also provides an energy boost as well as vitamins. It’s a perfect alternative to energy drinks and better for your health!  One packet goes for about:  $1.40

Dec CB 12

12.  Conscious Ink – Gratitude Temporary Tattoo – Cute but I doubt I’d be sporting this any time soon.  It’s made out of organic ink, etc.  The Gratitude tattoo costs $2.00

13.  Episencial Playful Washfree sample – I love Episencial!  When Bluum box first started out, one of the boxes had a full size of Episencial anti itch lotion. Love that stuff!  I haven’t tried the Playful Wash yet but I will very soon.  This sample is free.  By the way, this is for babies!

14.  Nurturme Sweet Bananas Baby food – I’ve always seen this around but haven’t tried it yet.  We’re traveling soon so I’ll be sure to try this to see if BB likes it!  The only thing that’s weird is that it’s like powder form.  Weird.  You just need to mix water or formula or breast milk into it to make it palatable.  One pouch costs $1.13

So there you have it, my final Conscious Box.  If I add up all the above amounts, I get about $24.70 but I didn’t count the Argan oil or the Episencial so I guess it costs around $25 total.  Not bad.  Overall, I liked the variety of this box and at how everything wasn’t edible, for me.  It was a fun run, Conscious Box. Maybe we’ll meet again in the near future…

Conscious Box Review – November 2012

Hello all!

Are you guys ready for Thanksgiving?  I can’t believe it’s already Thanksgiving.  I should realize by now that once November hits, the year-end is near. Very near. 2012 is almost over!  Very scary.  I remember back in the day when time would pass by SO slowly…and now it’s just going by too fast. 😦

I received my November Conscious Box on Friday evening but didn’t get to open it till Saturday.  I wanted to post up an update since Monday but was way too busy so here I am!  I actually peeked at the classic box packing list before I opened the box and I wasn’t too impressed by what I saw on the list.  Most likely because I wasn’t aware what all these products were.  Now that I’ve opened the box, I really like what I see in there.  I noticed this box was a lot heavier than the October box, too.  Awesome!

Here’s the un-boxing:

November Conscious Box

Cool postcard

Express Appreciation
Also, November is also the first anniversary of Conscious Box.
They had mentioned that it was a very special box for November because of their anniversary.

Closer look at the postcard

What I saw when I opened the box.
Packed to the brim!

That’s a lot of loot! 🙂

1)  Freekeh Grains – Tamari Roasted Green Wheat:  This is a totally new ingredient to me.  From what I can gather, it’s another healthy and nutritious grain, similar to Quinoa.  It’s been around since 2000 years ago and was discovered by accident.  You can cook it the same way you cook rice and other grains.  We like quinoa and this looks like it could be pretty tasty and healthy, too!  Excited to try it.  This is priced at $2.40 per bag.

2)  Pamela’s Baking & Pancake Mix:   All Natural, Wheat-Free and Gluten-Free! Healthy Pancakes!  8 grams of whole grains per serving.  This sounds great.  We eat a lot of pancakes on the weekend when we’re too lazy to go out and grab breakfast so this is perfect.  Price:  $1.52 per 100g bag.

3)  Justin’s Organic Peanut Butter Cups – MM…organic peanut butter cups?  I haven’t shown this to Meanie yet. He’ll gobble it up!  I read on their FB page that there was a recall because the peanut butter may contain salmonella but these peanut butter cups are safe since they were sent to Conscious Box after the recall.  I’m very familiar with this recall since I had bought a box of Jamwich’s from Costco for CB and we were sent a letter that there was a recall because of the possibility of salmonella in the peanut butter.  No sicknesses have been reported but there was no way I was going to take this risk!  [I just brought in my box over the weekend and was refunded]. Price – $1.89 for 2 peanut butter cups.

4) Lush Nuts – Dark Cocoa Chili:  These sound fantastic! Dark cocoa and a kick of spice in nuts. Definitely very interesting. Indeedio!  Price:  $7.00/5 oz.  The little bag is about 22 grams = 0.77 oz.  1 oz is approximately about $1.40.  I’m just going to say that little packet costs about $1.04

5) SweetLeaf Sweet Drops Sweetener – Vanilla Creme flavor – This really intrigues me.  I can use this instead of Splenda or Agave Syrup to sweeten my coffee?  Tea?  Awesome! I gotta try this. Not only does it sweeten without all the bad stuff, it’s also Vanilla Creme flavored so it’ll go great with coffee!  Yum!  It’s stevia-based.  This sounds too good to be true! And wow, there are so many flavors it comes in, too –

Coconut • Watermelon • Cola • Lemon Drop • Valencia Orange • Berry
Chocolate Raspberry • English Toffee • Vanilla Crème • Hazelnut • Peppermint • Root Beer
Grape • Apricot Nectar • Chocolate • Cinnamon –

So many varieties!  Wow, this little bottle costs $14.99!

6) Simply Organic – Minced Onion:  I know I took a picture of this twice but this little container is so cute! I’ll only count it once, I swear!  Minced onion can be very useful.  They also attached a card containing recipes with the minced onion.  Picture to come later.  This little bottle is called a Mini Spice. So cute!  It costs $2.09.

7)  Teecino! – I’ve already gotten several samples of Teecino but I haven’t tried them yet.  It’s basically caffeine free herbal coffee.  I wish I had known about this when I was pregnant.  Apparently people drink this when they want to cut down on coffee and caffeine.  You can drink this alone or pair it with milk and sugar, just like coffee!  The three flavors I have above are Mediterranean Mocha Herbal Coffee (makes 6 cups) [$2.50]; French Roast and Vanilla Nut Herbal Coffee tee-bags – $0.50 each totaling to about $1.00 for both tee-bags.

8)  Organic India Tulsi Tea – I’m actually not familiar with this product.  Tulsi is also known as Holy Basil.  It’s supposed to help with the immune system and to help with stress.  Wow, a product that will help with my immune system (much needed!) and relieve stress?  I’ll take it.  One tea bag is about $0.28

Here’s the other picture of the minced onion. I can’t get over how cute the jar is!

9) L’Ecuyer’s Gourmet Caveman RubL’Ecuyer Gourmet sells a lot of products.  This is copied and pasted from the About Me section about Renee L’Ecuyer and why she started making her own products.

After enduring years of chronic allergies and dealing with reactions to so many foods, elements, and chemicals I decided to make things myself! Try them out! You won’t be unhappy! Why did I go this far? I have a very rare immune disorder that pushed me to find ways to survive in this chemical, processed laden world! It has helped tremendously! I am a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner through training, turned entrepreneur and only want to see people be healthy and happy. No information on this web site constitutes medical advice! As always, if you have any questions regarding your individual health care, seek the advice or your personal health care provider.

There seems to be plenty of informative topics, too.  The blog is worth browsing!

Caveman Rub is a blend of chili powder, cumin, sea salt, various peppers, and oregano’s to make this caveman rub a must have!!  All of the rubs do not contain onion or garlic for those who may be allergic.  A 4 oz bottle costs $5.00 and a 2 oz refill costs $3.00.  I’m not sure how much the little packet contains but it’s definitely less than 2 oz, or 1 oz.  I’m sure a little of that rub goes a long way!  Just gotta figure out what to try it on.  Hmmm..so many options!

10) Bonus:  Avalon Organics lip balm. – I LOVE lip balm!  I am a fanatic.  I have several chap sticks and lip balm and I must keep my lips moisturized or else I am just not a happy camper.   This website is worth browsing.  They also create other items, too, and baby items!  The lip balm I got is a Soothing Vanilla Rosemary kind.  Here is the product description:  Organic coconut and olive oils moisturize while organic shea butter protects against drying. We use organic stevia leaf extract for a never-too-sweet flavor and organic rosemary to soothe your lips. Enriched with Vitamin E to nourish and heal.  This costs $2.99

I did not receive the Bloomers as listed on the packing list.  I do not know any other information about it and I’m sorry that I cannot share with you what the product list.  The description on the packing list is as follows:

Bloomers – For some of us, gardening is a year round activity.  For others, it has to wait until spring…but no matter the time, getting your hands a bit dirty and growing your own food is healthy, sustainable, and fun.  Add this pack of seeds by Bloomers to your flourishing greenhouse of greatness or hey, make it the first seeds in the soil next spring!

I’m not unhappy that I did not receive this. I do not have a green thumb. I envy those who do have it but plants tend to die on me. 😦  I wish I could have a flourishing garden and grow my own vegetables but I just do not have the knack or skill for it.  Oh, woe is me.  So these seeds would have been wasted on me anyway so it’s a good thing I did not receive it!

Additional reading material contained in box with recipes and ideas.

So the November box costs approximately…more than $30.70 since I couldn’t figure out the price of the Caveman Rub. I think this box is really worth it and I really did love it!  Next month’s Conscious Box will be last one since my subscription will be over and I really need to cut back on my spending money. I’m a little sad but I’m really glad that I jumped on this offer! 🙂

By the way, I received my Thanksgiving Cravebox yesterday.  I opened it and I’m just not happy with it at all.  Review to come.

[Note:  This post is entirely my opinion and I was not paid or compensated in any way to state my honest review]

Conscious Box Review – Super Mystical Magical Mystery Box

Ha ha, the name of the box gets me every time.  Please note that I will call it the SMMMB going forward.

I jumped on the SMMMB offer after I received my first subscription box from Conscious Box. I was pretty impressed with my first monthly box that I jumped on the SMMMB box at $19.95, including shipping.  I Googled to see if others had reviews on the SMMMB yet but I couldn’t find any.  Supposedly all the boxes are different and I’m interested to see what others got.

Ready to see what I received?

Here it is!

Ha ha, cute touch with the question mark

Note card that came with the box.
There’s no packing list that came with the box nor can I find one online
so I did the best on looking for all the links included in this blog.

First group:  Munchies

Closer look at the brown rectangle at the bottom of the screen
S’mores!  They’re really nice and squishy too.
Haven’t tried them yet!

1.  Crunchmaster Multi-grain crackers – Sea Salt; .5 oz – These look good but I haven’t opened them yet.  They’re sold at Costco so they should be pretty good and pretty accessible, at least for me.  I’m guessing this bag costs about $0.34 for a 5 oz bag.  It’s a pretty small bag that holds like 4-5 crackers.

2.  Dark Angell Chocolate Bar – This looks really good!  It’s a chocolate bar but it’s made of good stuff, kinda like the Unreal Chocolates I tried out for BzzAgent.  Yum!  Babydot’s Guesstimate cost:  $2.25

3.  Simply S’mores Gourmet Marshmallows – Plush Puffs – Ohmigoodness.  I went to this website and I want every one of these items!!  These look so good!  *drool*  These are fantasy gourmet marshmallows since they are also corn syrup free!  MMMmm that’s so awesome!  Look at these flavors!    Just to name a few – Caramel Swirl, Lemony Meringue, Mochaccino, Vanilla Bean and more?  I’m not sure how much the sample is but as I was searching, I came across their blog and a discount code.  Woot!  I’m not sure how much the little package costs but a 4 oz bag goes for about $5.99 according to their website.

Definitely something I’d look into!

4.  Ginger Pear Minteas by Tea Forte – I love Tea Forte products.  I gave out Tea Forte tea bags for my wedding shower favors.  I think they are so elegant and simple looking and make great presents!  I was stoked to find a box of Minteas in my box. They do not disappoint at all.  They taste great and supposedly they will help you Regroup because they contain Gingko in them.  I’m not sure about that but I’m pretty content with how they taste.  Cost:  $2.99

On to the next picture:

5.  Eco-Dent Premium Natural Oral Care Products – Dental Gum and Dailycare Toothpowder – I am a dentist phobe.  I am on every dentist’s wishlist because they hear Cha-Ching sounds when I walk through the front door.  I take care of my teeth, not excellently but pretty damn well but I still have problems with my teeth.  I believe the health of teeth is genetic because my dad has crappy teeth too.  I’ve had 4 root canals and I have a bunch of porcelain crowns which have literally costed me my bank account, WITH insurance.  Ugh.  The tooth powder looks weird to me but I guess it’s worth trying!  These are just samples and I won’t guess the price on them.

6.  Dr. Cleangreen Moisturizing Instant Hand Purifier – 1.5 fl. oz; $5.95 – I could definitely use this!  I usually use Bath and Body works Sanitizing Gel but sometimes I feel the scent is too overpowering and there’s way too much alcohol in it at times.  I tried this stuff and it smells great and it does moisturize.  I love it!  It has taken a permanent spot in my purse. It instantly kills germs; 100% Natural and 99% Organic; Cleans and Hydrates in One product.  Sounds good to me!

7.  Sun Tegrity – A sample of their natural and holistic sunscreen.  Cool!

8.  Go Greens – Salad in a bottle – Fiber powder.  This seems like a good idea when I’m not eating my veggies and fruit. Like now.  =/ I’ll have to try this.  I got two packets – one in Apple Melon and one in Green Apple flavor.  Although the Apple Melon packet feels a bit hard and stale compared to the other one.  One packet goes for about $0.97 according to Amazon. So two packets for a total of $1.94

9.  Pure Matters Protein – Chocolate Pea Protein Powder – This is a great item for Vegans who need their daily protein..except I’m not a vegetarian or a vegan.  This product scares me a little and I doubt I will use it.  Sadly, I don’t know any vegetarians either.  We are all carnivores or omnivores.  Anyone want this?  It’s got good reviews! 🙂 I’m not sure how much this single serving packet goes for…

10.  C3 for Stress – All Natural Stress Relief Drink Mix – I think this is similar to Emergen-C but for stress.  This should be interesting. I should drink this at home when my bear cubs are driving me nuts.  🙂  The starter kit of 5 packs goes for $4.95 now, if interested.  So one packet costs about $0.99

11.  Eboost – Pink Lemonade – I’ve seen these before on other sites like Cravebox or Influenster but I’ve never tried it personally.  I guess it’s another type of drink mix but this one is for energy.  I should keep this one at home, too, for taking care of my munchkins.  Babydot’s Guesstimate for 1 pack:  $1.40

Yum, this stuff looks great! I love tea and I love coffee.
These are all natural and organic.  Can’t go wrong with these!

12.  Guayaki Yerba Mate – Mate Chocolate – Fair Trade Certified – This looks yum!  Can’t wait to try.  I love how they have so many varieties too.  It’s 6.95 for a box of 16 tea bags. One goes for $0.44

13.  Mighty LeafOrganic Earl Grey – I love Earl Grey tea! I miss those days BC (Before Children) when Meanie and I used to go tea houses to drink brewed tea and eat tea sandwiches and desserts. I love that!  I can’t do that anymore.  At least not until my munchkins are older.  Wow, Rachel Ray has named it one of the best Earl Grey teas.  Cool, I guess, if you’re a fan of Rachel Ray. I am not a fan.  =P  15 tea pouches sells for $9.95 on the website so one pouch costs $0.66

14.  Teecino Hazelnut Herbal Coffee – This is a totally new concept to me. I did not know that coffee can be herbal!  This sounds terrific.  I can’t wait to try it.  10 “tee” bags costs $4.99 so one tee bag costs about $0.50

15.  Good Kind Natural Coffee Creamer – This sounds great, too.  I’m guessing this will go very well with the Teecino Hazelnut Herbal Coffee.  MMM.  This is just a sample so I won’t put a cost of it.

I don’t know half of these products that are enclosed in the Conscious Boxes but the fun part is looking them up online and discovering all these different brands.  I hope to introduce you to all these new items just like Conscious Box has done for me!

So there you go – 15 items in the SMMMB. I’m not sure if the costs equate or are over $19.95 – if I total the numbers above that are in bold and underlined, I get about $17.46 and add the two items I couldn’t find a price to.  So yeah, the box is worth $19.95.  I just wish that there were more fuller sized products so I feel like I get more bang for my buck.  Nothing really wow’ed me in this box but it was good to find out about all these other brands and products.

I doubt I would jump on another mystery box if the opportunity came.  Just my two cents!

Did anyone buy a Super Mystical magical Mystery Box?  I’d like to see what other people got and how my box compares to yours.  Please share!  🙂

Conscious Box Review – October 2012

Wheeee, I received my first Conscious Box on Friday!  To those who are not familiar with Conscious Box, it is a monthly subscription box that’s sent to your door.  It costs $12/month plus you need to pay for shipping which costs $7.95 so it’s about $19.95 a month.  You can also purchase 3-month subscriptions (total $56.85) or a 6-month subscription (total $111.60) That’s not too bad considering the amount of stuff you get in the boxes.  I hopped on an offer Plum District was offering and purchased a 3-month subscription for only $14 because I had a coupon, too.  Click here to read all about it.

There are two kinds of boxes – The Classic box and now there’s a Vegan box available.

Signing up for Conscious Box is very easy.  You just click onto whatever subscription you’re interested in (single box, 3-month subscription or 6-month subscription) and then you’re in the PayPal page where you just pay right then and there.  No need to create an account with them or anything like that. I was a little worried about that because I couldn’t log in to the account to see when a box was coming.  People have mentioned they get an email with a tracking number with it but I never received one.  I do know a box is supposed to arrive by the 15th of every month though so that was good to know.  Imagine my surprise when I found the box in my mailbox on Friday evening!  Yay!

I’ve heard a lot of raves about the Conscious Box and how people are always happy with their subscription.  According to Subscription Boxes, Conscious Box is the most top-rated box right now out there.  Conscious Box is a little more unique compared to other subscription boxes available now since all of the products they send out are all eco-friendly, which is a big plus!  I was a little reluctant to jump on this because of the price tag and I already have a subscription with Citrus Lane but I couldn’t pass up on the offer through Plum District (it’s not available anymore).  I was also a little reluctant because it’s an eco-friendly box.  I don’t consider myself as a totally green person. Maybe here and there but I’d like to improve on that.  So I was a little worried that I wouldn’t like the products in the box.  I was worrying for nothing!

I opened my box on Friday evening, after the kiddies have gone to bed so I haven’t shared the goods yet.  I’m tempted to hoard these goodies but I’d be a bad Mama Bear if I didn’t share!

The box itself seemed a little small to me. I always pictured it to be a little bigger. It really doesn’t matter though since it was packed to the max!  The box had 11 items total, plus coupons!  I heard Conscious Box stopped enclosing a packing list in their boxes but now it’s online. Click here for the list.  I haven’t ripped into the goodies yet so I don’t have a review for the munchies yet. They look good, though!

Here are my pictures.  I apologize in advance if some are blurry.

The box that was sitting in my mailbox.

What I saw when I opened the box.
A welcome note from Conscious Box. 🙂

The other side of the card – it gives you some ideas to re-use the box.
I would probably use mine to hold some of CB’s crayons or something.
I would even re-use the box for gifts!

The actual box where all the goodies are hidden inside.
It looks so pretty!

What I see when I open the pretty box.
Everything is packed so neatly!

The theme of the box – Autumn, Halloween, October!

A closer look at the pretty postcard included, on top of the hidden goodies below.

First exposed goodie – RW Garcia Dippers
3 Seed Curry & Mango chips.
Sounds good but haven’t tried yet.
They say these chips go very well with avocados.
I’ll have to get some next week to try these chips to the fullest!

These look good.  I’ve only tried one thing from a past Bluum box.
They are:  Clandestino – Banana Bar (the packaging looks really hip!);
Larabar – I see these everywhere but haven’t tried yet.
Bumble Bar Organic Sesame – I’ve tried this before. It’s very tasty!
Crum Creek – Soy Nut Mix – I actually received this in my Book Lovers Cravebox. Haven’t tried it yet though.

VitaRocks – Vitamins that are just like Pop Rocks!  They’re for kids but I want to try it too! 🙂
Yummy Earth Organic lollipop – I am very familiar with these since I was noshing on them while preggers.
They’re very good!  I actually bought them in bulk from Amazon and passed them out for Halloween and included them in CB’s birthday goodie bags.  My MIL also loves these!
Teatulia – I love tea! Looking forward to trying this.
Zarbees – cough syrup for kids.  This is great because CB often catches a bad cough from daycare and he’s too young for other meds.  I’ll be sure to try this out this winter to see how it goes.

Pretty postcard
GoodLight Natural Candles – I love candles!
I just haven’ t lit them in a while because I have gremlins munchkins running around.
Geo Deo Island Natural Deodorant – This is great.  No, really, I’m serious. I’ve been looking around for something like this.  In fact, I already bought some in bulk from Amazon (Gah) but a different brand.
I just started using both products over the weekend and so far, I’m pretty happy with both!
I’m not sure how effective they would be in the summer (Me = sweaty pig = oink) but for right now, it is effective and my armpits don’t feel gunked up with crap, which is the last thing I need.
Geo Deo Island has a nice pleasant smell, which is not too overpowering.
Something on me smells really nice but I’m not sure if it’s the the deodorant or the new shampoo I’ve been using that SheSpeaks sent me – Clear Shampoo and Conditioner.

Whatever it is, I smell awesome, like flowers!  🙂

Coupons and stuff.

There it is, all the contents in my box.  I’m not sure how much all of this costs but I’m pretty sure it’s more than $12.61/month (how much I paid for my subscription with the Plum District Offer and $5 coupon I had).  I was so pleased with this box that I actually jumped on the Super Mystical Magical Mystery Conscious Box for only $19.95 (shipping included).  Honestly, I’ve been eyeing this box for a while but wasn’t sure I wanted to.  Right after I opened my October box, I jumped on that Super Mystical Magical Mystery Conscious Box.  I mean, how could I not, with a name like that?  LOL  It’s still available if any of you are interested in it. I hear all the boxes are different so no box is going to be the same.  They should be shipping soon so I’ll be looking forward to receiving it.

My verdict?  Two thumbs up!

[This post is entirely my opinion and I was not paid or compensated in any way to state my honest review]

Conscious Box Subscription!

Woot! I just got a Conscious Box Subscription on super sale.  Conscious Box is another subscription box where you get a bunch of eco friendly goodies.  Usually if you buy per month, a box is $12 but if you go for the 3-month subscription, it comes out to $33 plus shipping ($7.95).  According to Subscription Boxes, this is the #1 subscription box service out there.  I’ve read many reviews on it on several blogs and the recipients are usually 100% happy.

I’ve been scouring Plum District for a while since I received a $5 Shopping Card from Tried and Truth for doing a review.  And today, I found the deal I was waiting for!  A 3-month subscription to Conscious Box for only $19.  I got it for $14 using my Shopping Card so it comes out to less than $5 a month for this deal.  How awesome is that?

If anyone of you are interested, here’s the deal:

In fact, if 3 people jump on the above deal, I get my deal for free.  No pressure! 🙂  I don’t mind paying $14 for my deal at all. Hee hee.

Yay!
